Britni Wilcher, PhD

Vice President of Research & Policy

Dr. Britni Wilcher is the Vice President of Research & Policy at the Gender Equity Policy Institute (GEPI), where she leads and manages the Institute’s research. An economist specializing in gender disparities in health and labor markets, Dr. Wilcher uses advanced statistical methods to examine how policy shapes the economic lives of women. Her research has been published in peer-reviewed journals including Labour Economics, Health Economics, and Health Affairs Scholar. It has also been cited in congressional testimony and the Economic Report of the President.

Prior to GEPI, Dr. Wilcher conducted labor market analyses as a senior economist at Resolution Economics, led federal regulatory analyses at the Department of Labor’s OSHA that withstood judicial review, and informed European Union medical device policy as lead researcher at the University of Exeter Medical School. She taught at the University of San Francisco as well as at Stanford University, where she completed a postdoctoral fellowship and is currently a Visiting Scholar.

Dr. Wilcher holds a PhD in Economics from American University, with a specialization in gender analysis. She also holds an MSc in International Health Care Management, Economics, and Policy from SDA Bocconi, and a BA in Economics from Spelman College.
