Romel Pascual is the executive director of CicLAvia. He has a long history championing environmental causes, clean energy, sustainability, and social justice in both the nonprofit and public sector. Previously, Pascual led the environmental justice program at the US Environmental Protection Agency Region 9 (Pacific Southwest) and later served as Deputy Mayor for Energy and Environment during the administration of former Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. Under former Governor Gray Davis, he was California’s first Assistant Secretary of Environmental Justice. Pascual holds a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from University of California, Berkeley.
